Okay, so what is a standing card? Its a card that stands on its own. I’ve also heard it called a pop-up card, a free standing card, or even a surprise card.
Whatever you call it, I absolutely adore this way of making a card! It looks so impressive with very little work on your part – a winner every time in my book!
I am *such* a visual learner, so I used the fabulous free standing card tutorial from Split Coast Stampers. Why reinvent the wheel when I can use that time to create?
I’ll be sharing 2 cards I made using that tutorial. This one is the first one I ever made, so you know it’s easy. I made it to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday. (How on earth did I get old enough to have a teenager?? Impossible!!) Anyway, I used the retired (and hard to find) CTMH set "Rock-n-Roll". I LOVE that set!

He really loved receiving this card, so it was well worth my puny effort. And I really love him, so you know, it all balances out.

Just a quick disclaimer…I received this information 3rd hand, so keep that in mind. I *adore* my ATG and have never had a single problem with it, but I know there have been a few issues with some of the newer guns. Maybe this will help…
October 15, 2008–I spoke with the 3M rep and have found out that there is a problem with the mold of the ATG guns, this has affected mostly the red 714 guns, but also some yellow 700 guns. 3M has asked all distributors of the ATG guns to stop shipping their stock and have been asked to return whatever they had in stock. 3M has ordered a brand new mold of the adhesive guns and will have new guns available the week of November 3, 2008 at the earliest.
The defective guns were manufactured starting in January 2008, some of the issues you might have experienced are tightening of the adhesive as you use the gun, it just not rolling right etc… If you believe you have a defective gun, 3M is going to work with you on this–starting Thursday October 16, 2008 at 12:00 pm CST you can call 1-888-936-3636. 3M will take your information and will send you a prepaid envelope to return your defective gun. As soon as the new guns are available they will they will ship it to you as well as a roll of adhesive for your troubles–make sure you completely fill out the form that they will send with the envelope

Well, whaddyaknow? It’s Tuesday and I actually remembered to post a Tool Tuesday post! Miracles do happen…
Okay, today I’m talking about one huge tool, but focusing on only one very small aspect of it. (I may revisit other areas of it later…) The internet. The world wide web. The web is truly an amazing phenomenon. And for inspiration, tutorials, how-tos, and templates there is no better place to look.
It will be way to hard to narrow down the internet to one post, so I’ll just list some of my favorites.
Altered Inspiration/Papercrafting
Splitcoast
2 Peas
CTMH VC Gallery
Blogs
Donna Downey
Stacy Julian
Tutorials/How-Tos
Okay, truth time. You want to know what I do most of the time? I go to You Tube or Veoh and search for CTMH, stamping, etc. I get a lovely assortment of how-tos with step by step instructions.
Templates
Time for Crafting
By Donovan
Mirkwood
So, there you have it. All my creative secrets – well, not all of them. But a good library of where I get ideas and inspiration from.

Okay, if you’ve read my post on my planners, you may be wondering where to get a calendar template from. I happen to have a wonderfully talented husband who can make any size calendar for me (he did all the work on the "guts" of 2 different planners for me – thanks Tim! Love you, babe!)
If you don’t happen to have a computer genius in your home, I have a link to some calendar templates that will make your project SO much easier! And if you haven’t visited the About Rubber Stamping Forum, take a minute to peek in and say "hi" – we’re a new forum, but we’re growing everyday and would love to talk stamping with you!
